Bhubaneswar: Authorities of the Sambalpur hospital today cancelled an agreement with security agency G5S, a day after one of its security guards allegedly attempted to rape a three-year-old in the hospital.

Talking to mediapersons, Health Minister Pratap Jena said, "We want to send out a message that if any employee of an outsourcing agency gets involved in any crime, the agency will be held responsible."

He added, "Had I been asked to comment not as a minister, I would have said the accused must be gunned down."

On the other hand, Sambalpur CDMO KK Gupta said the district police has been asked to deploy home guards until new tender process is completed.

Apart from this, the CDMO stated the new security agency will be asked to check criminal background of its staff before deploying them at the hospital.
