Rape bid: Minor girl set on fire by uncle in Kalahandi

Kalahandi: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was set on fire by her uncle as her parents filed a complaint against him allegedly for passing lewd comments and attempting to rape the girl at Madhupur village under Narla police limits in Kalahandi district.

The victim sustained grievous burn injuries and was admitted to the Kalahandi district headquarters hospital (DHH) in critical condition.

As per the complaint, the victim’s uncle Balu Das attempted passed lewd comments and attempted to rape the minor girl yesterday. The girl later brought the matter to the notice of her parents, following which, her parents asked Balu about the incident and lodged a complaint in the Panchayat.

Angry over this, Balu and his associate allegedly passed lewd comments at the girl and later attempted to rape her.
