Bhubaneswar: In a move to prevent the recent Ransomware attack WannaCry, the Odisha Government has decided to take help of social media to create awareness. Other than this, advertisements will be released in print media so that people will be able to understand the advisory released by the State IT department easily.

The decision was taken today in an important meeting convened at the State Secretariat after reports of attack in several places. The review meeting led by IT Minister Chandra Sarathi Behera was also attended by Principal Secretary of Home Department and Special Director General (DG) Police (Crime Branch) BK Sharma.

Meanwhile, a 3-member team of Crime Branch's Cyber Cell is probing the Ransomware attacks at computers of Community Health Centre, Purushottampur which occurred on May 15. Sharma has informed that the team has seized the hardware and necessary steps have been taken to deal with the attack.
