Ransacking, scuffle breaks out at BJP’s ‘Mishran Parva’

Kendrapara: A scuffle broke out between two groups leading to violent clashes during BJP’s ‘Mishran Parva’ at Singitia Sindhibata in Kendrapara today.

According to sources, a ‘Mishran Parva’ was organised by BJP in Sindhibata wherein supporters of former MLA Utkal Behera were carrying out a rally to the venue. As per allegations, the members of the rally were attacked with sticks by the supporters of party leader Bijoy Mohapatra at Garadpur Block Chhak. Moreover, the ‘Bijoy Sena’ also ransacked the venue later, it is alleged.

Sources informed that the venue of the ‘Mishran Parva’ turned into a battleground with clashes erupting between the groups.

Later Patkura Police reached the spot with 2 platoons of force and dispersed the violent crowd.

“Discipline is our basic principle and I am shocked at such indiscipline. The people of Patkura will never forgive the perpetrators,” said Utkal Behera.

“Bijoy Mohapatra is still in BJP. Some people with vested interests are using money power to defeat him,” said a supporter of Bijoy Mohapatra, Golak Swain.
