Rajya Sabha member from Odisha AV Swamy hospitalised

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Rajya Sabha member from Odisha AV Swamy was injured after he collapsed on Parliament premises on Friday. He was immediately rushed to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in New Delhi.

Sources said he has sustained injuries on his head and hand after he fell down.

“He was inside the House and I was in the lobby. He just fell down and they lifted him onto the stretcher. He is in hospital now,” said another Rajya Sabha member R Anand Bhaskar.

When the Rajya Sabha met for the Question Hour, Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu informed members that Swamy fell down and was rushed for treatment. However, the reason behind the collapse is yet to be ascertained, Naidu added.
