Bhubaneswar: Internationally acclaimed director and filmmaker Rajesh Touchriver who has won several state, national and international awards for his feature films, documentaries is all set to direct an Odia movie titled "Bullet Raja" based on the Patnagarh wedding gift blast tragedy.

Making a formal announcement, Producer of the film Sridhar Martha said “The story is superb and since we have roped in such an acclaimed Director, I beleive it is going to be a great movie. I hope that the film will appeal the  people of Odisha and bring glory for the Odia film industry,” Martha said at a presser on Wednesday.

Touchriver who was also present at the press conference organised by the production company, Range Royal Cine Lab said the plot of the story fascinated him. "Starting from the way it was planned , executed and how the case was investigated and tracked by police officers besides the fact how a social person turned out to be a criminal -every thing about the story inspired me to direct the movie, "said Touchriver adding that he will do his best to make the film.

The films, titled ‘Bullet Raja,’ will primarily focus on accused Punjilal Meher’s revenge tale and how he meticulously hatched the entire conspiracy, which left the police in tizzy for quite some time.

According to sources, the film will be released not only in Odia but in several other Indian languages and will showcase the minute details of the entire incident, from how the lecturer planned his revenge and executed the plan.

While the character of Crime Branch IG will be played by Manoj Mishra, actor Hara Rath will be featured as the mastermind Punjilal Meher. A poster of the film has also been released.
