Bhubaneswar: Rains are likely to lash most parts of the State in next 12 hours under the influence of a depression, predicted the Regional Meteorological Centre today.

Some places of Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Angul are also expected to get heavy to very heavy rainfall, the met added.

Strong gusty surface winds with a speed of upto 65 km per hour are likely along and off the Odisha coast.

The depression over Jharkhand, West Bengal and north Odisha will move in northeast direction and weaken gradually into a well-marked low pressure in next 24 hours, the met stated in a media release.

Cautionary Signal III has been hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.

Fishermen have been advised not to venture into sea in view of the present conditions.
