Bhubaneswar: Putting to rest months of speculation about the leadership of Odisha Pradesh Committee Congress (OPCC), the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday informed that there would not be any change in the leadership of states across the country, as of now.
For the time being Prasad Harichandan will continue to be the president of OPCC.
As per the release of AICC, "The presidents of all the Pradesh Congress Committees will continue in their posts even after the organisational election till a decision is taken to remove them."
War of words had ensued among the OPCC leaders following the party's poor performance in the Zilla Parishad (ZP) polls last year. Even verbal duel between senior leaders of the party had belittled the party's image affecting its prospects ahead of the 2019 elections in the State.
Earlier, there were rumours that AICC would replace Harichandan over the party's failure in the ZP polls under his leadership.
