Bhubaneswar: Nearly four years after staying away from BJD affairs, former minister and senior BJD leader Raghunath Mohanty today met party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here and promised to participate actively in party activities.

“It was just a courtesy call. I am a disciplined worker of the party. I will continue to work as per the direction of the Chief Minister”, Mohanty told OTV soon after the meeting.

Reacting to the meeting, CM Naveen Patnaik said he is considering his issue. "I am looking into the issue. Let's see what can be done", Patnaik added.

The former Basta MLA was suspended from the post of BJD vice president after he was arrested in much hyped dowry torture case slapped by his daughter-in-law Barsha Swony Choudhury in 2013. A five-time legislator Mohanty was also denied party ticket during 2014 Assembly elections.
