Sambalpur: The Forest staff of Rampur Forest Sub Division have successfully brought out python hatchlings from 13 eggs without incubator.

On May 24, locals had rescued a python near Dehurisahi of Redhakhol in Sambalpur district and handed over to the Forest personnel who placed the mother snake and her 28 eggs inside a hole between big rocks in Hatidhara reserve forest.

Two days after, honourary Wildlife warden Subhendu Mallick went to the spot and found the mother python missing and eggs in poor condition. Apprehending further damage, Mallick informed the Forest personnel who brought the eggs back to the office and kept them under moderate temperature and moisture.

After 18 days, the hatchlings came out from 13 eggs while two eggs were found damaged.

The Forest staff are hopeful that the python hatchlings would to come out of the remaining nine eggs.
