Bhubaneswar: Executive engineer of Public Works Department in Koraput district was arrested by vigilance officials today for taking bribe to pass a pending bill of a contractor.

The anti-graft agency raided a hotel here while engineer Gopal Chandra Nayak was making a deal of Rs 2 lakh to pass a pending bill of Rs 30 lakh.

The vigilance sleuths seized over Rs 1 lakh from his possession apart from the bribe money. Investigation is on into the matter.
