Bhubaneswar: The State private bus owners’ association Sunday threatened to launch a strike in case increased toll charges are collected from buses as per a notification issued by the State government on May 18.

Prakash Mishra, president of the association, told media persons, “No passenger bus will pass through a toll gate in the State in case new fees are collected at that toll plaza.”
As per the notification, one-third of the toll charges will be borne by buses whereas two-thirds will be paid by the passengers.

Eight toll plazas are operating on the National Highways in the state.
