Puri: Barely a month after the Jagannath Sevayat Sammilani urged the servitors’ community to stay away from Ratha Yatra coordination committee meeting through posters, the priests body once again put up posters at various places near Sri Jagannath temple today requesting same ahead of the second meeting for the mega religious event.

Protesting against the suspension of some of the fellow servitors during Niladri Bije last year, they released the poster asking all servitors, officials of various Niyogs and Managing Committee members to stay away from second coordination committee meeting to be convened by the district administration tomorrow.

"As per the decision taken at a joint meeting of servitors, various Niyogs and temple managing committee held at Koili Baikuntha on 27/04/2017, all servitors are requested to remain absent in the second meeting of Rath Yatra coordination committee", the poster read.

It further mentioned -“Your benign absence would remain as futuristic guidance for entire servitors' community".

The priests’ body had put up posters, which had urged all servitors to boycot the first meeting. They had alleged that the district administration defamed the servitors’ society over the Niladri Bije issue last year.

The posters had also stated that the repute of the servitors’ community has been hampered the way district administration campaigned the incident of climbing chariot by a servitor’s kin.
