Puri: Anna prasad of various kinds, dalma, veg curries, pickle, besar, mahura, different types of pithas like arisa, kakera, poda pitha, manda and sweets like rasgola, gaja and the list continues.

The Gaurabihar mutt here prepared 555 types of delicious foods among these items to offer to Lord Krishna on auspicious occasion of Byanjan Dwadasi today. The devotees especially the foreigners, seers, local residents and saints have a pleasant time today to have the yummy prasad.

"I am fortunate enough to taste the delicious prasad of Lord Krishna. The day symbolises the unconditional love and affection of mother Yosada towards her son Krishna. I am very glad to be a part of this ceremony", said Kadambini, a devotee.

The day is observed as a sacred day to offer palatable prasad to Lord Krishna. On this day, Maa Yasoda offered various types of palatable foods to her son Krishna. "To commemorate the day, we prepared a huge number of delicacies this year with the help of devotees," said Subal Chanran Dash, the seer (mahant) of the mutt.

The dishes comprised the traditional cuisine of Odisha and those of some other states as well," the seer said. Though we have been celebrating Byanjan Dwadasi for many years, the preparation of abundant number of delicious food for devotees started a few years ago. Devotees from different parts have been extending their financial support for the smooth conduct of the feast," he said.
