Pulse Polio drive begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Pulse Polio drive began across 30 districts in Odisha on Sunday.

The drive which began at 7 AM would continue till 5 PM.

Sources in the Health department said 18,968 immunization centres have been set up to administer pulse polio drops to the children. Apart from this, 376 mobile teams have been engaged to administer polio vaccines to the children in the far-flung areas who have not turned up to the immunization centres.

The state government has set a target to administer Pulse Polio vaccine to 44.5 lakh children within  0-5 age group.

The first phase of the immunization drive will continue till January 31 while the second phase of the drive will be carried out from April 2 to 4.
