Providential escape for 50 passengers as bus skids to hang from Bridge

Deogarh: Nearly 50 passengers had a miraculous escape when the Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Ispat bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and got stuck in a hanging position from Barkote Bridge in Deogarh district late on Monday night.

According to sources, the incident occurred on the wee hours today when the driver felt sleepy at the wheels losing control of the bus. As a result it skidded off the road and remained stuck, precariously hanging from the Barkote Bridge.

Soon locals rushed to the spot to rescue the passengers.

However, no casualties were reported in the accident. The driver and helper are absconding, sources added.
