Probe ordered into substandard mid-day meal in Khurda school

Khurda: A day after more than hundred students of Deulatangi Model Primary School were taken ill by consuming mid-day meals, a probe was ordered in connection with the incident today.

School and Mass Education Department has directed the Khurda CDMO to conduct an investigation and submit a report at the earliest.

According to reports, several students of the school were taken ill soon after consuming mid-day meals at the school on Wednesday. It is alleged that substandard quality of eggs were served due to which students fell sick.

Mid-day meal coordinator Gangadhar Sahu informed that already samples of meals and eggs have been collected and sent for examination.

Following tension in the school, the headmistress of the school was placed under suspension yesterday.
