Probe begins into sorcery tricks used after patient’s death in Phulbani hospital

Kandhamal: Based on the directive of the collector, a team led by Kandhamal Sub-Collector initiated a probe into the use of sorcery tricks following the death of a patient at District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Phulbani.

The team questioned the ADMO about the incident and also checked the CCTV footage of the hospital. The team also visited Phulbani Town Police Station and questioned the Inspector-In-Charge over the incident.

It may be mentioned that, Golak Bihari, a resident of Nediguda village in the district was admitted in the hospital yesterday after a venomous snake bit him. He died even after receiving required treatment at the hospital.

However, family members of Golak took his body to a sorcerer, who tried to extract the venom from the body with help of a hen. The sorcerer performed his tricks on Golak for four hours but to no avail.
