Private bus strike in Odisha from March 14

Bhubaneswar: Private buses will remain off roads from March 14 as the All Odisha Private Bus Owners’ Association today called for an indefinite state-wide strike over various demands.

President of the association Prakash Mishra told mediapersons that buses run by private operators will stop plying from 6 AM on March 14.

"The private bus owners are demanding clarity on route map for JNNURM city buses. Besides, the operators also want a rollback of hike in motor vehicle tax," Mishra added.

The association had submitted a memorandum to the State government on February 19.

“Yet the State government has not called us for a discussion,” stated Mishra.
