Prerana 2018: OTV honours women achievers on International Women's Day

Bhubaneswar: The annual event of Odisha Television Limited - ’Prerana’ felicitated women achievers of the state in Bhubaneswar. The annual event to mark International Women’s Day was graced by Bollywood actors Ashish Vidyarthi and Tisca Chopra.

Acid attack survivor Padmini Roul, physically challenged Sumani Sabar, social workers Riturani Sasmal and Nilima Topno and filmmaker Milan Das were honoured during the event.

After collecting the award, Padmini said, "I thank OTV family for inviting us here and I wish everyone a very happy International Women’s Day."

During the event a new show of OTV based on women was also announced by director and co-founder of Odisha Television Limited Jagi Mangat Panda. The show titled as ’Chup Rahibi Kete Din? Mun Naari Mun Kahibi’, will be a helpline for many women facing difficulties.

A panel discussion was also held during the event with both Ashish Vidyarthi and Tisca Chopra deliberating on women related issues with Jagi Mangat Panda on the stage.

Speaking on the occasion, Ashish Vidyarthi said, "It is a great effort by OTV. Prerana has been here for five years and dealing with burning issues affecting women here. I congratulate all the achievers felicitated here."

"If women stop pulling down each other and be supportive then many problems could be resolved," said Tisca Chopra.
