Pre-poll campus violence: MS Law College declared sine die

Cuttack: Authorities of the Madhusudan Law College here today declared sine die after pre-poll violence erupted in the college and a student attempted self-immolation.

Tension prevailed at the law college after a girl student of the college attempted to commit suicide by trying to set herself on fire after pouring kerosene on her body. Besides, the students ransacked various properties of the college.

Though police forces were later deployed on the college premises to avert any kind of eventuality, the authorities declared sine die.

On the other hand, students of the Bhadrak College locked the main gate of the college and sat on a dharna by burning tyres today protesting attack on a student of their college by outsiders. They demanded steps to check hooliganism and justice for the victim.

As per reports, miscreants attacked a student of the college with a sharp weapon in front of the college gate last evening. He was injured and later admitted to hospital.
