Balasore/Baripada: Petroleum and natural gas minister Dharmendra Pradhan today launched three projects including a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) bottling unit built at the cost of Rs 321 crore in Balasore district.

The three projects were inaugurated near Hidigaon village on Balasore-Chandipur road in presence of senior officials of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL).

The Paradip-Haldia-Barauni Crude Oil Pipeline (PHBPL) project was also inaugurated by the Union Minister. It is considered as the energy highway to entire Eastern and North-Eastern region for supplying crude oil to refineries at Paradip, Haldia, Barauni, Bongaigaon and Guwahati, said sources.

A pump station of IOCL was among the three projects which were launched by the Union Minister.

The three projects are envisaged to cater to the LPG demand of Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

Later in the day, the Union Minister inaugurated a solar-powered drinking water project at Tilapada of Mayurbhanj district. Besides, he laid foundation stone for three underpass roads at Baisinga, Betanoti and Takatpur.
