Bhubaneswar: In a reply to Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's letter, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today stated that Centre has decided to open Post Office Passport Seva Kendras in Balasore, Berhampur (Ganjam) and Bhawanipatana.

Swaraj wrote to Pradhan apprising about opening of three new passport service centres in the second phase since he had requested for the Kendras in a previous letter to her.

"I am pleased to inform you that as desired by you, we have decided to open 'Post Office Passport Seva Kendras (POPSKs) in Balasore, Berhampur (Ganjam) and Bhawanipatna (Kalahandi) in the second phase of this scheme," she said through the letter.

Meanwhile, Pradhan thanked the foreign minister for considering his request. "Sincere thanks to Hon'ble EAM @SushmaSwaraj Ji for positively considering my request for opening of PSKs at Balasore, Berhampur and Bhawanipatna," Pradhan tweeted.


In his letter to Swaraj last month the Petroleum minister requested for seven passport seva kendras in Odisha in Angul, Berhampur, Balasore, Kendrapara, Bolangir, Jajpur and Bhawanipatna as the places requiring the POPSKs/PSKs.
