Politics over DHH status for Jeypore sub-divisional hospital

Koraput: Politics is now active over the demand of district head quarters hospital (DHH) status to Jeypore Sub-Divisional Hospital with former minister Rabi Narayan Nanda contemplating to seek Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s intervention on the issue.

The former minister and BJD spokesperson stated that soon a delegation of over 300 people would meet Naveen Patnaik seeking up-gradation of sub-divisional hospital.

“We would be meeting Naveen Patnaik on August 15 to press for the demand as the sub-divisional hospital is one of the oldest health care institutions that caters to the health care needs of Jeypore, parts of Koraput, Malkangiri and Nabarangpur sub divison,” said Nanda.

The demand assumes significance following the conversion of district headquarters hospital to Sahid Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital.

Local MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipatni on the other hand claimed that already the matter was brought to the notice of the State government and the issue should not be politicized.
