Bhubaneswar: Police will launch a probe into the phone call made from the court premises by arrested chief of Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund company Pradeep Sethi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Bhubaneswar Satyabrat Bhoi informed that investigation into the lapse on the part of the police is already on.

“We have already received a complaint and action will be taken immediately after investigation. We are currently questioning the escorts who were accompanying Pradeep Sethi. Currently inquiry is on; after it concludes, we will be able to tell under what circumstances it happened and who is responsible for the same. We are currently investigating our laxity and after that we will look into the other aspects,” said Bhoi.

Police will investigate how Pradeep Sethi was able to make a phone call during his appearance in the court, how he had access to the device, who he was talking to and what were security personnel accompanying him doing at that time.

According to sources, Pradeep Sethi allegedly gave a telephonic interview to a media house.

Police sources informed that henceforth, a senior police officer will be present when an undertrial is being produced in court to prevent such lapse in future.
