Earlier in the day, family members of Piyush and locals had sat on a dharna before the SP office demanding immediate arrest of the accused. Later they had withdrawn the stir after getting an assurance from the SP.

But the villagers blocked the road at Melchhamunda by placing the body again today and attacked the Melchhamunda police station this afternoon.

Padampur SDPO and Bargarh Sub-Collector rushed to the spot and are monitoring the situation.

Talking to media persons Bargarh SP said, "It's an unfortunate incident. However, the public should have exercised some restraint. We came to know about the death of the boy yesterday itself and within 24 hours we have nabbed the main accused. We would have produced him within a short time."
