Police SI found hanging on Basta Police Station premises

Jaleswar: A day after the death of Basta Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Kunwar Majhi in a road accident, his friend SI Jagannath Nayak was found hanging in the quarters on the premises of the police station.

According to sources, prima facie it is said to be an act of suicide. A suicide note has also been seized from the spot where the deceased has mentioned mental stress to be the reason behind his extreme step.

It must be noted here that Jagannath was earlier stationed at Basta Police Station and recently transferred to Mangalpur Police Station. However, Jagannath had returned to Basta Police Station and was staying in the quarters of Kunwar in connection with the investigation into an older case.

Kunwar was killed in a road accident yesterday after he was hit by a mini truck.
