Police nab four Maoists in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Four Maoists were nabbed by Malkangiri police during a combing operation in the forest areas near Elkanur village under Kalimela block and Gajalkonda village under Khairaput block of the district today.

Earlier on October 6, the arrested Naxals had murdered a person in Kurub village under Kalimela block suspecting him to be a police informer.

"The Maoists had murdered one Dambru Nayak in Kurub village on October 6. A case had been registered in Kalimela police station based on which four persons were arrested and they will be court forwarded today," informed Malkangiri SP Jagmohan Meena.

They had killed Dambru to recreate their terror in minds of people as many have started rejecting the Naxal ideologies, he added.
