Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Thursday issued a public notice regarding traffic restrictions that will be imposed during the State-level Republic Day celebrations in the city on January 26.

Besides, traffic diversions will be made during the rehearsals for the state-level parade on January 21 and 22, Commissionerate Police stated in a public notice.

As per sources, no heavy vehicles will be allowed to move towards Master Canteen neither from Raj Mahal nor Ram Mandir side from 6:30 AM till the conclusion of the parade on January 26.

Two wheelers and light motor vehicles will be allowed from these sides up to Master Canteen but will not be allowed towards PMG Square.

No vehicles will be allowed to move towards PMG Square from AG Square and the traffic will be diverted from Jaydev Bhawan towards IDCOL auditorium.

Commuters from 120 Infantry side will be diverted towards Unit 4 while all lanes connecting Mahatma Gandhi Marg where the Republic Day parade will be held will remain out of bounds for all vehicles.

However, there will be no restrictions for pedestrians while the sale of gas balloons on the entire stretch of road between PMG and Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be prohibited.

The Commissionerate police officials informed that adequate parking provisions have been made at around seven places including BDA Bus Stand near railway station and open space near Congress Bhawan.
