Cuttack: The Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) court here on Tuesday allowed Commissionerate Police to take sharp shooter of D-brothers’ Arif Khan on a six-day remand.

According to sources, police will interrogate Khan for his involvement in the sensational murders of Om Prakash Swain (Omm) and Deepak Mallick (Dipu), who used to work for the arrested criminal siblings Sushil and Sushant Dhalasamant.

Police had appealed to the court seeking to take Khan on a seven-day remand for interrogation on his links with the D-brothers, but the court granted remand for only six days.

Notably on April 14, the police had arrested Arif Khan from Madurai in Tamil Nadu. Khan was sent to 14-day judicial custody after being produced in a court here.

Besides his role in the murder of Om and Dipu, Khan was also involved in an extortion case. He was initially working as the driver of D-brothers. After the death of Om and Dipu, he was used by his employer as their sharp shooter.

During a search on Khan, police had seized a fake voter identity card in the name of one Rajendra Behera.
