Keonjhar: Family members of two minor boys, who had just appeared their matriculation examinations, approached the Keonjhar District Collector today alleging that the police have jailed their children. The boys were said to have been jailed with some persons involved in a poll violence incident.

The boys identified as Akshya Munda and Mohan Parihal of Suakati village has been jailed by the police on March 15.

Mother of Mohan, talking to media persons said, "They told that they are going to market, we did not know of the incident but later we came to know about the arrest."

Similarly mother of Akshya said, "Some villagers may have called them to have a walk together when police took them, we do not know about the incident, we are appealing near the Collector to find whereabouts of our children."

According to sources, alleging partiality by the police, during Nayab Sarpanch elections in Suakati, a group had ransacked the police outpost there and thrashed the police personnel present in it. Later police arrested few persons of the village and had sent them to jail.

The family of the minors said that their children are not involved in the incident, but police arrested them when they were going by bus to Keonjhar.

Keonjhar Sadar SDPO informed that he has not received any such complaint from the families of the minors. He said, "We have not received any such complaint from them, the case is currently sub judice, the process will be completed as per law."

Now question arises, how the police sent the minors to jail. Is it carelessness of the police or is it working under someone's pressure. Both the families have demanded impartial probe of the case.
