Plus Two admission process will begin in state from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The process for online and offline admission in Plus Two streams will begin in Odisha from Monday.

As per a notification by the Higher Education department, students can apply for admission online through www.dheodisha.gov.in while students having no internet facilities in their area can apply at their nearest college.

As per the stipulation, a student can give his/her option for a maximum six colleges for admission.

The last date of application for online and offline admission is June 6 and 7 respectively.

The first cut-off list would be announced on June 13 and the first phase admission will be held between June 16 and 21. The second cut-off list would be announced on June 25, the notification said.

To help students and their guardians in the admission process, Student Academic Management System(SAMS) Centres have been opened in leading colleges.

There are a total of 3,97,691 Plus Two seats in 1503 Plus Two colleges in the state.

Talking to OTV, Bibekananda Panda, Principal, Khallikote Junior College, Berhampur, said a student has to deposit Rs 120 for a single college. But if the student gives option for five more colleges, he/she has to be deposit a fee of Rs 50 for each additional college. The students can deposit their form in any SAMS Resource Centre.

AK Khilar, admission-in-charge of Sailabala Women’s College said the help desk is ready to assist the students and their guardians in the admission. Besides, the SAMS Resource Centre is ready to validate the documents of the students.

According to Gobinda Chandra Pradhan, Principal, BJB Junior College, Bhubaneswar, the first cut-off list would be announced on June 13. Prior to the announcement, the college authorities will inform the students selected for the admission. It is mandatory for the selected students to bring all relevant and original documents at the time of admission.

The Higher Education department, however, has advised the students to have a look on the last year’s cut-off marks of the leading colleges in the state before mentioning their choice of colleges for admission.

The cut-off marks in Science, Commerce and Arts of the leading colleges in the state last year are as follows:

BJB Junior College, Bhubaneswar: 90.83, 79.83 and 70.50
Ravenshaw Junior College, Cuttack: 90.83, 76.33 and 69.50
Khallikote Junior College, Berhampur: 85.50, 64.67 and 60
GM Junior College, Sambalpur: 81.83, 67.50 and 60.33
FM Junior College, Balasore: 85.50, 57.67 and 70.76
