Cuttack: The Cuttack district administration has filed a petition in the Chit Fund Court for confiscation of landed properties of about Rs 4 crore of the Hi-Tech Group.

In the petition, the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Cuttack who is the Special Empowered Authority, has sought the permission of the Court to confiscate 55 acres of land of the Hi-Tech Group in Puri, Pipili, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur and Ganjam.

Prior to this appeal, the Special Empowered Authority had sought permission of the Court for sale of land properties of the Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital, Hi-Tech Dental College and other institutions of the Group. The case is now sub judice.

Notably, the Economic Offences Wing of the Odisha Crime Branch has registered cases against the Hi-tech Group on the basis of the allegations of massive land fraud through chit fund.
