Plaster from Bhawanipatna hospital ceiling falls down, woman injured

Bhawanipatna: A woman undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital, Kalahandi was injured after a cement plaster from the hospital ceiling fell on her on Thursday evening.

The woman, Nupur Majhi, a resident of Bhawanipatna was sleeping on bed number 157 when the incident occurred. She sustained minor injuries in the mishap while other patients in her ward were panicked.

Soon after the incident, the ADMO along with other hospital authorities rushed to the spot and examined the health condition of Nupur. Later, she was shifted to another cabin.

The worn out condition of the District Headquarters Hospital building has raised questions over the safety of patients undergoing treatment in it.
