Jagatsinghpur/Bhubaneswar: Despite police complaint lodged on the illegal telecast of Odia movie ‘Love Station’ in a local cable service in Jagatsighpur when the movie is in theatre, inaction of the local police has raised eyebrows of many in the film industry.

A local cable named as Sahu Cable telecast the complete movie of Tarang Cine Productions without its permission while violating copyright laws on July 19. However, the police is yet to act in this regard.

A Jagatsinghpur resident on condition of anonymity said, “I watched the complete movie on the Sahu Cable.”

Another resident also agreed to seeing the ‘Love Station’ on the Sahu Cable.

Commenting to the issue, Ranjan Kumar Satapathy, head, Tarang Cine Productions, said, “The movie was telecast on the local cable in gross violation of the copyright act. Though we had informed the local police station, action is yet to be taken.”

Asked about the matter, Manoj Kumar Mohanty, SDPO, Jagatsinghpur, said, “A case has been registered at the Jagatsinghpur police station and the investigation is on. We will take action in this regard soon.”

Notably, the Twin City Commissionerate Police has already arrested one person on charges of selling pirated CD of the ‘Love Station’.
