Pipili: Hours after the Pipili toll plaza resumed collection of toll, the police again closed it down as the toll gate authorities started functioning without the permission of district administration.

Around 14 days after remaining closed due to damage created by the miscreants; the toll plaza had resumed the toll collection in the morning from heavy and light vehicle on Bhubaneswar-Puri highway.

Toll collection had severely been affected since Holi after two groups of locals clashed ransacking the toll furniture.

On the day of Holi, hundreds of residents of Seula village under Pipili police limits swooped down on Pipili toll gate, had damaged computers and CCTV cameras and destroyed all toll bars. Sources said the violence erupted following a tussle between youths of Seula and Ujanipada villages on Sunday.

As most of the employees of the toll gate belonged to Ujanipada, they were also attacked by the group from Seula.
