Personal videos of lady engineer downloaded, blackmailers arrested

Jharsuguda: Badmal Police today arrested three persons for allegedly threatening and blackmailing a lady engineer, working in Vedanta here, by sending personal videos of her in WhatsApp.

The arrested have been identified as Aman Mal, Ritesh Soni and Asish Jaiswal, all belonging to Jharsuguda.

According to reports, the engineer had given her mobile to a repair shop to fix some handset problems.

However, the mechanic of the shop allegedly misused the handset and downloaded her videos from her mobile. He later sent them to her WhatsApp number and blackmailed her.

The woman further alleged that the mechanic had demanded money to delete all the videos.

Forced, she lodged a complaint with the Badmal police after which police began investigation into the matter.

After a thorough probe, police has arrested three persons and interrogating them, sources said.
