PCC chief demands Dasburma’s resignation

Bhubaneswar: At a time when trouble for Food and Consumer Welfare minister Sanjay Das Burma is mounting with each passing day, Odisha Pradesh Committee (OPCC) chief Prasad Harichandan said the minister should tender his resignation on moral grounds.

Speaking to media persons, Harichandan said, “The CBI should ask him to appear personally and start investigation into all the allegations leveled against him.”

“Submission of documents through a representative wouldn’t help. Since the entire state wants to know the truth, the minister himself should appear before the investigating agency, if he has anything to say,” Harichandan added reiterating the minister’s resignation.

The state Congress chief, who was in Balangir to attend a programme, said Dasburma has no moral right to continue as people’s representative and as a minister.

Even though the heat in the political circles here generated by the CBI summons to the Minister to submit documents pertaining to the Mitsubishi Pajero and all other vehicles owned by him or his family members is yet to die down, the opposition Congress and BJP yesterday fired another salvo at him alleging that he had invested money earned from chit fund firms in five companies owned by his kin.
