Bolangir/Bhubaneswar: The Patnagarh wedding gift blast tragedy that created ripples in Odisha will be made into a feature film in Odia language soon.

A formal announcement about the project has been made by production company, Range Royal Cine Lab.

The film, titled 'Bullet Raja,' will primarily focus on accused Punjilal Meher's revenge tale and how he meticulously hatched the entire conspiracy, which left the police in a tizzy for quite some time.

According to sources, the film will showcase the minute details of the entire incident, from how the lecturer planned his revenge and executed the plan.

"I have decided to do a film on the parcel bomb incident. The incident is very 'filmy' and will definitely fascinate the viewers," said Film Producer Sridhar Martha, adding that one can learn many things from the incident that how a social person like Punjilal hid his dangerous intentions and kept everyone perplexed for so long.

Martha also met DGP RP Sharma and sought his permission for making a movie on the parcel bomb blast incident.

"The incident is a story full of twists. If the film is made with good direction, the film will definitely fetch awards. I am sure the film will appeal the audience and bring glory for Odia film industry," said film critic Dilip Hali.

Sources said while the character of Crime Branch IG will be played by Manoj Mishra, actor Hara Rath will be featured as the mastermind Punjilal Meher. A poster of the film has also been released.

The Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested the sole conspirator Punjilal behind the wedding gift blast in Patnagarh on February 23 that took the lives of two persons, including newly-wed Soumyasekhar and his grandmother and left the former's wife Reema critically injured.

Police said that Punjilal was unhappy over Soumyasekhar's mother Sanjukta being made principal of Jyoti Vikash Junior College.
