Patient found hanging inside Puri hospital

Puri: A patient's body was found hanging inside the toilet of the male medicine ward of Puri Sadar hospital on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Babulal Sabar.

As per sources, Babulal, a daily wage labourer, was rushed to the hospital after he complained of severe chest pain this morning.

Later, he allegedly committed suicide inside the toilet of the male medicine ward by hanging himself with the help of a gauge and rope.

Sabar's relative said, "I brought him to the hospital and asked him to wait till I get the tickets for his admission. Then I asked Rs 1000 from a relative for Babulal's blood test. When I was busy in these works, he went and hanged himself from an iron bar fixed in the wall of the toilet."

“The body has been sent for post mortem. Investigation is on to ascertain the cause of his death,” said a police official.
