Passengers hit hard as bus service from Puri to twin cities halted

Bhubaneswar: Bus service from Puri to the twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack was halted today as Puri bus staff staged a cease-work stir protesting assault on a staff at the Cuttack bus terminal.

It is alleged the bus staff are facing a lot of inconvenience due to a spat between the Puri and Cuttack bus owners.  Sources said a staff of a Puri bus was assaulted at the Cuttack bus stand two days ago.

At a time when Ola and Uber cabs are not plying on the roads as a part of the drivers’ protest against reduction in their earning caused by falling incentives, the strike by the Puri bus staff today came as a blow to hundreds of daily commuters.
