Sambalpur: Four days after a bus carrying 40 passengers skidded off the road in Keonjhar, another similar incident has been reported from Sambalpur district on Friday. At least six persons were injured and two got critical after a passenger bus they were travelling in skidded off the road and rammed into a tree here near Jamankira police station of the district.

According to sources, the bus ‘Shree Om' bearing registration number OR 15 N 1595, carrying around 40 passengers, was en route to Sambalpur from Debagarh. Suddenly, the driver lost control over the vehicle and rammed the bus into a roadside tree.

Soon CRP personnel and locals rushed to the spot to evacuate the passengers and other injured persons. After a preliminary treatment, all the injured were shifted to VSS Medical College and Hospital, Burla. Two persons got critically injured while six others have sustained minor injuries in the accident, sources added.

In another incident today, a doctor and his wife had a narrow escape when a car in which they were travelling caught fire near Sasana Majhipali in Sambalpur district.
