Paramotoring ride cancelled, weather plays truant

Khurdha: Adventure lovers have to stay on ground for few more days as the paramotoring ride scheduled to have been launched today atop the Barunei hills near IIT Jatni was cancelled due to adverse weather condition.

The organisers informed that the next date of the adventure sport has not yet been scheduled.

A city based group - Fun Rides - had planned to organise the paramotoring, a thrilling sport wherein one suddenly starts flying while riding a motorcycle. The organisation had also obtained requisite permission from the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to fly within a range of 10 kilometres in the open air.

The orgnaisers said, the ride was on a Rotex 450-500 cc twin engine model that is attached with a glider and safety parachute. One can fly for nearly 30 to 40 kmph on the paramotor.
