Bhubaneswar: The Crime Branch of Odisha police will begin its second phase investigation from Monday on the death Paralakhemundi King Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deo’s former manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three siblings, who allegedly committed suicide for ‘grabbing’ properties of the king.

The CB sleuths are expected to meet family members and some close relatives of Patra.

After the first phase investigation, while the Crime Branch has given a clean chit to the Patras in the property grabbing case, it will be tough for the sleuths to look for other angels which forced them to take the extreme step.

Meanwhile, the viscera test report of Tulu Patra, who breathed his last after battling for life at the MKCG medical college and hospital, suggested that his death was due to drug overdose.

“We received the report yesterday. It has been mentioned in the report that the death is due to due to drug overdose,” MKCG Forensic department head Sachidananda Mohanty said.

CB sources said they are expected to meet hospital authorities to get details about the viscera report.

Family members of Patra however demanded that stern action must be taken against the culprits.

“We demand stern action against the culprits. The government must initiate immediate action in the case as the Crime Branch has completed the first phase probe. Action must be taken against the news channel for blaming the four which led to their death. The Crime Branch has already clarified that no property was grabbed by these people against whom the channel had run series of news items,” Purnima Patra, sister of Ananga Manjari Patra stated.
