Paralakhemundi: As a part of the second phase investigation into suicides of Parala king Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb’s former manager Anang Manjari Patra and three of her siblings, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Odisha Crime Branch on Monday interrogated the owner of an offset printing press where the controversial banners recovered by police were printed. The person has been identified as Narayan Mohapatra, owner of Nilakantha Offset Printing Press.

Moreover, the SIT also quizzed the buyer of a land belonging to the Parala King in 2011. According to sources, land buyer P Subhalaxmi and her husband Sai Raju were questioned by the SIT over the price at which the transaction took place.

“I told them all the facts that I was aware of about the incident,” said Narayan Mohapatra.

“The SIT asked about the land bought by us from the King. They asked us about the amount of land purchased, place of the land and the price at which the transaction took place. We informed that we bought the land from the King and paid him the money in person,” said Raju.

Crime Branch sources informed that the SIT will interrogate the local doctor and the CDMO after receiving the final viscera report. The SIT will also be questioning the relatives of the king, some politicians and some specific media persons in connection with the death of four.

Patra and her brother Sanjay, both formerly managers to Parala King Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deo and the royal
estate, were found dead in their home in Paralakhemundi along with another sister Bijaylaxmi on August 22.
While three including Anang had died after consuming poison, another brother Tulu Patra, rescued in a critical condition from the spot, died in the following day at the MKCG medical college and hospital in Berhampur.

While the Crime Branch has given a clean chit to the Patras in the property grabbing case, it will look for other angels which forced them to take the extreme step.
