Bhubaneswar: Perturbed over slow pace of Crime Branch investigation into suicide of Parala Palace manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three family members, the relatives of the deceased have sought intervention of Odisha Government for expediting probe and met Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard.

The family said that they were forced to knock on the doors of the Chief Minister of the State as there has been an inordinate delay in the probe.

Earlier, Odisha Government in August last year had ordered a Crime Branch probe into the mysterious death of former palace manager  Ananga, her elder sister Bijaylaxmi and brothers Sanjay and Santosh Patra in August 2016.

A six-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the Crime Branch is investigating the matter.

“We have met the Chief Minister as it’s almost eight months that there has been no progress in the investigation. Naveen Patnaik has assured us of taking steps,” said Amulya Patra, brother of deceased Anang Majari.
