Parala suicides: Crime branch to interrogate MLA Surya Rao

Parlakhenmundi: As a part of the investigation into suicides of Parala king Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb’s former manager Anang Manjari Patra and three of her siblings, the Odisha Crime Branch on will interrogate Paralakhemundi MLA K Surya Rao. According to information obtained from a senior Crime Branch official, Surya is among 8 other persons who will be interrogated by the Crime Branch as these persons along with some institutions were named in the suicide note recovered by police.

According to sources, the interrogation process will begin from October 3.

Patra and her brother Sanjay, both formerly managers to Parala King Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deo and the royal estate, were found dead in their home in Paralakhemundi along with another sister Bijaylaxmi on August 21.

While three including Anang had died after consuming poison, another brother Tulu Patra, rescued in a critical condition from the spot, died in the following day at the MKCG medical college and hospital in Berhampur.
