Bhubaneswar: Even as the special investigation team (SIT) of Odisha Crime Branch is yet to complete investigation into the mysterious death of Parala king Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deo’s manager Ananga Manjari Patra and her three siblings, besides the property deals of the king, if any, it has come to fore that the king had disposed of some of the royal assets in the past few years.

While scanning documents relating to royal properties, the investigating team has come to know that the king had sold a vast stretch of a mango orchard in April 2012. He had also disposed of another piece of land in December, 2015. The current market price of the above properties is estimated to be around Rs 3 lakh.

The property transaction documents at the tehsil in Paralakhemundi showed the assets have been purchased by two women.

While the SIT may take some more time to complete the investigation, the talk of the town is that the Patras lost their lives for no fault of theirs. After scanning the bank accounts of the deceased on Friday, the SIT had said they did not show any substantial deposits. Neither could the agency find huge money transactions in either of their accounts as alleged by local political leaders and the Maharaja Sukshya Samiti.
