Paradip: Paradip Port has set another record by handling 100 million tonnes of cargo in the financial year 2017-18. In terms of cargo handling, the port registered a growth of 15 percent in comparison to last financial year.

The cargo handling target includes 60 percent import and 40 percent export.

Chairman of Paradip Port, Rinkesh Roy credited the achievement to the port employees.

"Paradip Port joined an exclusive club of ports who have handled 100 million tonne cargo. Prior to this only State-owned Kandla port and privately-run Mundra port in Gujarat have achieved such growth rate," said Roy.

"All have equally contributed, including port authorities, stevedores and Dumper Owners' Association for the 100 million tonnes cargo handling achievement of Paradip Port," said Antaryami Patnaik, President, Paradip Port Stevedores' Association (PPSA).
