Paradip: Odisha BJP has demanded arrest of the accused involved in the murder of the General Manager of Seaways Shipping Company, Mahendra Swain on October 26, 2016. Launching a protest, BJP demanded detailed investigation of the murder.

Moreover, the party demanded the State government to ensure safety and security of the citizens and also criticized the local MLA.

“We want to tell the state government not be a mute spectator and wake up. When we as our MLA and Minister they respond saying they have no clue about the incident. If within seven days no breakthrough is achieved in this incident they we will gherao the national higway and not shy away from giving a Paradip bandh call,” said BJP leader Nirmal Swain.

Responding to BJP’s allegations, minister Damodar Rout said “People of Pardip know what I have been doing for them for the past 40 years. If they are so competent, they why did they lose the elections.”

On the other hand, police has set up special teams to investigate the murder and said that he accused will be arrested soon.

“We are verifying all the angles and have set up different teams. We are on our toes to get to the root of this organized incident. We are hopeful to nab the accused soon,” said Paradip SP Gadadhar Pradhan.
